Pollution- Coal Fires,2017

These works refer to the coal fires located on the hills east of the kibbutz, beyond the Green Borderline, which provide livelihood for the residents of the nearby villages. However, for those who live down the hills, the coal fires are an ongoing environmental and health hazard.  In the immediate sense, the works perpetuate the conflict between the two neighboring people, when for one the coal fires are their source livelihood and for the other it compromises their quality of life. This series is a natural continuance of the series, Walking: Metzer-Baqa al Gharbiyye-Meiser, and demonstrates the ineffectiveness of the fences, meant to separate and close off the two peoples, since the winds and the smoke clouds cannot be stopped by the burning agricultural fires and coal fires.  Moreover, an acute apocalyptic wind blows from the works of art, regarding damage to the environment and the earth, whose dire consequences cannot be assessed.
